Angel Lesnikowski, Master of Arts, Painting

Named a Fresno State College of Arts and Humanities 2025 Graduate Student of Distinction, Angel completed her graduate studies last fall, culminating in a stunning graduate show. “Mourning” presented large-scale mixed-media works created in the months leading up to the 2024 presidential election and “confront[ed] two of my deepest fears: war and the erosion of women’s rights.” She re-exhibited the project in April at Scarab Creative Arts. In March, Clovis Community College featured her solo show, “The Cigarette Box Project,” an exhibition of miniature Western landscapes she’d painted on hundreds of discarded cigarette boxes. She also curated “A Wise Woman Once Said,” “”a tribute to the women who have shaped my journey as an artist” at Corridor 2122. Her future plans include two more solo shows this fall, some group shows (to be announced) and teaching painting and drawing at Porterville College and drawing and art appreciation at Clovis Community College this fall.
